I have written my own reviews for both Call of Duty 4 and Call of Duty 5 and this is the Call of Duty 4 review.

Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare

Infinity Ward

Read Review Rating: 10 "Really, Really, Outstanding!"

Infinity Ward's Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare takes you deep into the combat of modern warfare. Call of Duty 4 is intense, jarring through the whole game the experience is amazing. Call of Duty 4 will have you stuck playing it and when its all over, pleeding for more. It was quite a gamble to break comfortzone of World War II and leap into present day, and the gamble paid off. Rainbow Six and Ghost Recon and all military based shooters are nothing to Call of Duty 4. Most of the modern guns and weapons used are seen in Call of Duty 4 like the 50-cal and the M16. Call of Duty 4 keeps on the one story even switch from US Marines to the British SAS. There aren't as much 'twists' as there are as much shocks in Modern Warfare. There is a little too much shocking slow-motion points where you just want to keep playing, but credit Infinity Ward for add something to the game. Playing the first Call of Duty or its sequel to might have a little trouble hopping into Modern Warfare. You can again pick their thrown greanades, and give it back to them. Most of the change in Modern Warfare comes in the combat, because it's so different. This is an intense shooting game with lots and maybe too much enimies to take down. The enemy AI isn't as smart as I thought it would be as you may find an enemy standing right in plain sight in a door waiting to be shot down. Most of the enemies do still duck behind cover. The enemies shooting RPG's and throwing lots of grenades will force you to move on. Also the enemies have access to one of the prephaps the greatest weapons in modern war, dogs. Ther eare dogs in Call of Duty 4 and they can be very annoying bitches (get it?). They are a very annoying pain in the butt and can take you down if you miss press the button. They don't care about your raging assault of bullets or trying to flank you and they have no fear, they are just there to rip your throat out. With your squads you cannot tell them the clear a room out or throw a frag, you are the ring leader, you go in first, they will follow you to a door. You are the one who has to be moving down stairs for them to floow you but when your down there, you can sit back and let them do it. Sometimes they don't clear the room very well and when you think your safe, they shoot at you till your dead. One of the good things in this game in the enviroment, it has been set out very well, it doesn't lack anything I don't see, you can shoot a wall and it won't loook the best, but it atleast shows you what happens when you really shoot a wall in real life. A main thing is the campaign, you go through small, short but still fun levels and you get achievements easily for not doing a lot. Some of the mission may be small and not go fo rvery long they are amazing to play like "All Ghillied Up" watching the enemy soldiers walk past you. You shoot down from the AC-130 Gunship blowing up enemies which is fun. There are several amazing memorable moments in Call of Duty 4. This game looks very good from top to bottom and the sound and visuals are a main part of it. Some moments in the game aren't all very good and detailed but the game is almost there to running 100% perfect evertime. I guess you could loose yourself in combat with the amazing sounds and enviroments it is a very real looking game. This game is very weel done and Infinity Ward have done an excellent effoert that won't disappoint. The single-player campaign isn't perfect as its single-player. Co-op gameplay is quicly becoming the standard. Moving to more online gaming, Infinity Ward may need to fix up the friendly fire issue in future games. Sometimes you may mastake your online team-mates for enemies or in camapaign they may share a simular color scheme, and you can shoot them taing you back to the last check point. One of the bad things about Modern Warfare is that the campaign length may be not enough to satify people enough. On Regular you can approximatly complete Call of Duty 4 in a day, less than a day. If you move up to Veteran and you a very good gamer, you can still complete in in a whole day, again, very little. Completing the camapgin unlocks Arcade Mode which you can play th ewhole campaign or certain mission with arcade style rules. So, Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare is a very exciting but yet short experience, it is one of th ebest first person shooters ever. Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare is totally worth your money, I have to say, maybe a little more than $100 I have to say. So you get an awesome fun exciting game spectacular for less then I think its worth anyway. Infinity Ward have done a gear job with Modern Warfare and we can't ask for anything better than it is.
